Legs for Literacy launches new website, web marketing partnership
August 18, 2009
Organizers for the 9th annual Legs for Literacy Running event are pleased to announce the launch of a new event web site. The project was completed through a partnership with ISL, a web marketing firm with offices in Moncton, Halifax, and Vancouver.
“ISL has offered their significant web expertise towards the creation of a new and enhanced web site for Legs for Literacy,” says enthused race director and event co-chair, Marie Wilson. “Over the past eight years our event has really grown, and as we have grown so to has our need to enhance our marketing communications capabilities. However, as a volunteer organization, we needed guidance from a web marketing partner– and ISL answered the call.”
Web Marketing Partner
ISL President, Malcolm Fraser, says the ISL team was pleased to get involved as the official web marketing partner for Legs for Literacy. “Since we opened our Moncton office last year, market response has been tremendous. We see great potential here in Moncton and in New Brunswick. This project allows us to use our expertise to help an organization with a good track record develop and grow their event using a solid web marketing strategy. We’re looking forward to working with Legs for Literacy.”
The fully bilingual web site is built on OneWeb CMS 5.2, ISL’s proprietary content management system, allowing Legs for Literacy to easily make updates themselves.
“Many runners are training now for races in the fall timeframe,” says Wilson. “We encourage anyone interested to visit our new site at www.legsforliteracy.com or www.courirpourlire.com”
Over the past three years, Legs for Literacy has grown to become the largest running event in New Brunswick, with over 1,250 registered runners in 2008 participating in 5k, 10k, half-marathon and marathon distances. Over 300 volunteers assist on race weekend. The 2009 edition will take place on October 25th. Race organizers expect route enhancements this year will strike a positive note with runners. “We’ll start and finish at UdeM this year, meaning lots more onsite parking and better access for all runners and volunteers,” states Wilson.
